Hey guys , I just got an usb and i got problems with it . Its an Hoco. UD9 usb drive 128gb rated with usb 2.0.The speed from the manufacture is: Read: 15-25MB/s Write: 6 - 10MB/s . But when i tried it with a transferred test (I'm using JUST a 30MB video) its transferred under 1 MB/S I thought it was a fake drive but after doing the check it wasnt. I'm using Dell Inspiron 5593 with Windows 10 22H2 19045.6043 I got no idea what's wrong with it. Please help ASAP,Ill be very grateful for it Link for the drive info: https://hoco.vn/usb-hoco-ud9-128gb.htm (its on vietnamese btw so you might need some translate,I cant find the real hoco. website but i found this trusted official website so i think that'll work) (also I'm buying this drive old so it is out of warranty )

Consider a significantly larger file for testing. Keep in mind these speeds are based on ideal conditions and might not reflect real-world performance. It seems the manufacturer may have adjusted the read and write rates on their website, possibly by error. It’s unlikely the device can exceed its reading speed. Why would you need a 128GB USB2.0 thumb drive in 2025? I’m not sure, but I really hope it’s affordable.

I believed there was an error, never encountered a thumb drive faster than read speeds. You confused the sources. https://hocotech.com/product/mobile-acce...htful-2-0/ Updated July 25, 2025 by leclod

Absolutely, I'll get to it right away. What's the issue you're facing?

I also used a larger file, but it didn’t improve the speed. Honestly, the price is quite reasonable too.

CrystalDiskMark generates performance metrics for disk read/write speeds. (It could indicate normal slowness.)

That's noteworthy... I also discovered that using the USB causes a significant drop in my laptop's performance.

Partially slower than USB 2.0 performance isn't ideal.
