Hello everyone, I've noticed some changes after the latest BIOS update. The system runs W10 x64 on a 750W PSU with an i7-6700K processor, GTX1070 graphics, two SSDs—one Samsung 960 Pro directly in the M.2 slot and another 970 EVO Plus connected via a Glotrends adapter for M.2-PCIe X4. Both are cooled by Sabrent coolers. The older drive is still functional, while the new one is brand new and verified as original by Samsung Magician. CrystalDiskMark reports stable speeds: the 960 Pro achieves R3479-W2002 and the 970 EVO Plus R3538-W3296. Performance remains consistent across benchmarks, even when copying large files like a 41GB file. Transfer rates are around 600MB/s from 970 EVO Plus to 960 Pro and 60MB/s in the opposite direction. No significant differences were observed with different utilities or in SafeMode. NVMe drivers are fresh, no issues with antivirus or program closures. Testing on another PC produced identical results. I've checked PCIe slots, swapped cards, removed a PCI-USB3.2, and reinstalled NVME drivers—still stable. If you have any suggestions for troubleshooting, please share, and I'll update the post with further attempts. EDIT SOLUTION: uncheck "compress this drive to save disk space" in the disk properties.
Have you checked other PCI-E slots? It seems like an issue might occur when data moves between CPU and chipset PCI-E lanes, possibly due to a BIOS setting affecting this process.
Thank you for the update. It seems the steps haven't made any difference yet. I've removed the pcie-usb3.2 underneath, but the issue persists.
Consider rearranging the connections by moving the drive from the motherboard to the adapter.
Sure, I can attempt that, but I need to disconnect my GPU to access the first option. I'm uncertain whether my BIOS will recognize the PCIe adapter at that stage, so I was holding off to try something else first. Right now, I'm installing Ubuntu on a USB drive, so I'll start there and switch if necessary.
