I just received a R5 5500 used second hand to swap in for my old 1600 that came out of the factory. I installed it with my NZXT X53 AIO. The temperatures I recorded during normal use (just a desktop and a few programs running) are around 49°C, without PBO or curve optimization, and the coolant is at 34°C. Unfortunately, I live in Greece and don’t have air conditioning. Recently, the CPU temperature dropped to about 44°C when just browsing, and the pump curve looks like it’s set for that range. The AIO fans are usually running between 45-55%. It seems a bit odd since I applied Kryonaut Extreme paste, which should help with heat dissipation. I remember doing a full OC on my 6900XT with a spread and saw it hit around 67GHz at 4.025GHz for Cinebench and 35% idle, with ambient temps 5-7°C lower than expected. Is there an issue with the mount or the CPU itself? Should I adjust the fan settings to push and pull more effectively? Thanks in advance!

The room temperature is being checked. The processor in use is likely the R5 5500. If you're running it at full speed, it might be pushing its limits.

49C represents an ideal CPU temperature. Cooling when idle isn't very useful. The question is about performance during maximum usage.

All parts are fully stocked R5 5500 and the environment sits at about 32-33

My OCed 1600 started at 35 at idle, but the fully stocked version reached 49 with ambient at least 5 degrees lower.

Looks like you're aiming for a stable setup. The data shows Ryzens tend to be warmer during idle compared to Intel, and 49°C remains solid for idle. The key point is understanding your specific workload temperature.

Under load, the temperature readings provide a more accurate reflection of your cooling system's performance. Idle temperatures don't reliably indicate how effectively your cooling is functioning.

At full capacity I'd notice 72-74°C in the CPU and 36-37°C in the liquid at 4.2GHz, earned a 9405 score on Cinebech.

The 5500 looks impressive; even using it might be enough, an AIO seems excessive.

The idle temperature remains elevated because of the underlying issue.
