Hello everyone! I've noticed my laptop (details below) is making unusual sounds. Initially, I thought it was a failing HDD, but after replacing the drive, another noise appeared coming from the CPU/GPU area. I've attached two videos for reference. The first shows me using a microphone to check different parts of the computer, and the second is a sample without the mic moving. I suspect it might be coil whine, though I'm not very familiar with that term. What do you think?

As laptops become slimmer, they tend to produce more squeaking noises. In some cases, the sound resembles that of a functioning hard drive even when one isn't physically present.

The sounds come from something else, not actual silicon. As for why it started recently, it’s hard to say without more details.

Running the machine produces sounds. I'm unsure how long this has been happening; there was a problematic hard drive causing louder noises recently. I only heard it when I removed it.

It was completely surprising to identify the issue in the CPU/GPU section
