Recording of the sound, enhanced for clarity. Notice the distinct background buzzes alongside the fan hum. Might it be coil whine or a failing fan? I’m not certain. None of the fans appear to be engaging with anything. From my listening, the issue seems linked to the graphics card. This aligns with the observation that the noise intensifies under heavier GPU workload. The sound is quite loud and clear in real life, though capturing it proved challenging. It has persisted for several weeks (or longer?) and wasn’t present before. What might be behind this? Should I be concerned? Appreciate your help!

It seems like you're trying to identify a sound based on its rhythm. Here are some possibilities:
- Graphics card coil whine
- Motherboard stress noise from PCIe slot
- Hard drive spindle movement
- SSD write sound

Let me know if you'd like help narrowing it down!

It's understandable you're curious about the sound. Yes, it's possible the noise gets louder as VRAM usage increases. If it sounds like coil whine, it's typical and not dangerous—just nothing to worry about.

This version really captures a strong steam sound with lots of airflow noise. Not ideal for headphone listeners.

The sound is very soft, but the fans significantly reduce much of the disturbance.

Do you have a fan in your room that you can silence and capture audio from? GPU coil whine occurs when higher VRAM usage increases power consumption, especially since you're using the GPU. Please share your system specifications.

Only the insiders are using my PC, so I can't shut them down easily. Hardware specs: CPU – Intel Core i5-9400F, GPU – NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, Power supply – CORSAIR PSU CX600 600W, RAM – two Samsung M378A1K43CB2-CTD modules, Mobo – ASRock Z390 Pro4, with an NVME SSD, HDD, and SATA SSD. Let me know if you need more info.

That noise closely resembles a mechanical clicking sound, so please disconnect your HDD and check if the issue persists. Is the Founders edition GPU what coil whine typically sounds like (1:48)?

I considered disconnecting the HDD. The sound doesn’t appear to come from it at all, only during heavy VRAM activity. The GPU was removed from an HP prebuilt system, and it looks like the same model I found online.
