Unusual sound near the CPU socket on the motherboard
Hey everyone, so about a week ago I assembled my second PC. At first everything worked fine, but now I’m hearing an unusual sound near the CPU socket—it sounds like a receipt being printed. I turned off the intake and exhaust fans, removed the CPU cooler (Hyper 212 Black Edition), and the noise still happens. Since it’s in the IO/CPU section, it probably isn’t coil whine from my 2070, which does that when idle or under load. Interestingly, the sound stops briefly if I disconnect my display from the graphics card. I’m guessing there might be a grounding problem or a faulty capacitor, maybe the motherboard wasn’t properly padded when shipped? I don’t have any details, so any advice would be super helpful. Perhaps, perhaps; it's simply a matter of chance. On the other hand, it becomes a concern only if you're sensitive to the noise: inducers humming doesn't indicate any real problem with them, nor should you be alarmed — it's just how inductors operate and something you can't always prevent.
