Hello, I've observed an unusual sound coming from my PC, especially after playing RDR2. At first, I assumed it was coil whine, but more research suggests otherwise. It's tough to pinpoint the source since the noise disappears when opening the case and stops at temperatures above 61 degrees for the graphics card. Has anyone experienced something similar? Should I worry or is it just a minor issue? You might need to increase the volume to hear it clearly in the video. It seems like an unusual sound is coming from the system. My initial guess is that it might be fan noise, particularly because it disappears when you take off the side panel. Is the GPU mounted vertically? I'm pretty sure it's not, but it's worth noting since I can't be certain. If the fans are pressed directly against the glass, that could cause this kind of noise. This is just a guess—no idea why turbulence would occur in this setup. It doesn’t seem like something harmful, just something that’s confusing for now.
Thanks for your quick reply. The GPU is set up horizontally, and I have a prop to reduce sag. I slightly lowered the voltage, which helped a bit, but when power demands increased in parts of the game, temperatures rose above 61°C and the noise returned intermittently. It’s frustrating because opening the case side stops the noise, making it hard to capture clear video. I ran Time Spy multiple times to see if it matched, but it only works for RDR2, not Time Spy.
