Hey there! I recently assembled a new PC for a friend and he's been facing unexpected crashes since it went live. All components are brand new, and I've tested the old RAM and graphics card separately. I also updated the BIOS and disabled XMP without success. According to him, the issues involve a frozen display and audio loss. These occur mainly while gaming but also during basic tasks like streaming or idle sessions. Here are the specs: OS is Windows 11 Home - 22H2; BIOS version 7D24v2A (updated 6/6/2023); all parts freshly ordered, none used yet. The CPU is an Intel i7-12700K with 12 cores, and the GPU is an MSI RTX 3060 12GB. The motherboard uses a Noctua NH-U9S cooler, and the system runs on an EVGA Supernova 850 GT 850W power supply. No specific software is running during these events. Firefox, Discord, Steam, and possibly a gaming app are active, but not always. No error codes or screenshots were shared. Thanks for your support—I'm really stuck.

It might not have been very useful, but I actually had an old Razer keyboard that could do this. If I tried it and played some games, sometimes I'd get no sound at all and have to completely reset the PC—everything would freeze. After experimenting, I realized it only worked with that specific keyboard. I got a new one and the problem stopped. About three months later, after not using it and feeling fine, I tried it again on the first day and it happened once more. I don't know why, but it's always worth trying when the usual options fail.

This might stem from a power supply issue. While PSU problems usually trigger full shutdowns, they can sometimes result in hangs or unstable behavior.

It's possible. Freezes can be triggered by almost anything—even trivial things. I’d eliminate unnecessary files to narrow down the cause and let it run on a YouTube video (unless it freezes only in-game, then play a lighter game). Ideally, you should keep just the OS drive, CPU, motherboard, and one RAM stick. For USB, use just the mouse and keyboard.

The system stopped working completely, making it impossible to use. This occurred repeatedly each day. Switching the keyboard resolved the issue. It seems quite unusual.
