Hello everyone, just moved to a new GPU and reinstalled the operating system. Since then, the monitor display isn’t what I expected. My old settings worked well before—images were clearer and brighter. Now I’m unsure if it’s the GPU itself or the default configuration. White looks too intense, while darker tones seem too dark. I’ve adjusted gamma, contrast, color temperature, and brightness, but the results are inconsistent. Sometimes the image is too dark with barely visible whites; other times it’s overly bright with washed-out colors and unreadable blacks. My eyes are getting strained after a few hours in front of the screen, and I’m experiencing headaches and dizziness. It seems like the color balance might be off, possibly due to an RGB mismatch even though the settings are set to full range 0-255. Can anyone suggest what I should tweak? I can achieve a decent display but bright colors still look too saturated, making whites look grayish and blacks unrecognizable.

Are you relying on the software or the operating system to adjust brightness? What about the monitor? Have you experimented with color temperatures in your monitor to achieve a cooler look or a 5000K setting? You can configure color temperatures in the drivers to reach 7500K (ideal for you). Before trying further, reset the OS to its default colors.

I've tested several methods, starting with the monitor settings and then adjusting OS and adrenaline levels. It seems using just one setting works best. After trying combinations, I ended up resetting everything. The colors felt too intense, making it hard to see clearly. I had to lower brightness and contrast, which wasn't ideal since my vision needed more focus. This situation is really confusing—I'm worried something might have happened overnight.

There is a thing of changing too much where you no longer know what the norm is. Personally, I don't like beige whites and yellow grays. So I go up on temps. Balance between brightness and contrast is usually ok, there must be a balance. Too much brightness, everything fades out, too much contrast, some things are too bright, others too dark and pixelation. I usually don't mess with hue at all, I never met a display that shows purple blues, yet. Saturation is usually balanced. Monitors can go bad, so can GPUs, you never know until you swap them. So if you can swap and test either one, you'd step forward.

You can return the GPU via RMA, but the colors are fading and adjustments aren’t working.

I really don't know anymore if that is the case, it's used GPU tho no warranty, but seller is not just a ebay rando, it's a local IT seller that has a good rep and never sold me anything bad, everything tested. I should have somewhere old monitor so gonna try that and then the GPU as well. Its weird, 20 minutes on the computer today and already eye fatigue, thought something is wrong with my eyes, but when i watch TV or phone there is no problem, also PC at work.
