I've invested most of my free time trying to understand what's happening with this device. I bought it on eBay shortly after seeing the listing. The price was reasonable at $551 USD, and I already had the upgraded Sunrich S-331 backplane, which made me excited—there shouldn't be much else to deal with except enjoy the experience.

The specs were: a single SuperMicro X9SRH-7TF processor, an Intel Xeon E5-1620V2 chipset, four Hynix HMT31GR7CFR4C-PB modules with 8GB DDR3 memory, and two PSM-5760V GPUs. Fast forward to today, and it's become a major frustration.

After the first boot, I encountered problems where the keyboard wouldn't detect me or the system would freeze completely. I reviewed the manual and managed to reset the BIOS to factory settings. Then I removed the motherboard and noticed two mounting points that didn't match any holes, leading me to suspect the board might be faulty. I contacted the seller for a replacement, which arrived.

Curious, I tested it on a test bench and it booted—so maybe the issue wasn't with the hardware. After installing a PCIe card, it booted normally. However, when I tried Ubuntu, the system wouldn't recognize any drives connected to the board or bypassing the backplanes. The BIOS was at version 3.0, and the latest version didn't include any updates.

I've spent several hours with friends trying different fixes, but nothing worked. The problem seems to be related to the BIOS version and missing updates. I'm not sure what else to try, especially since the backplanes aren't compatible with my current setup. Thanks in advance for your help—I just hope I'm not making this mistake.
