I discovered a way to resolve my issue. It involved combining two components: first, the integrated GPU needed DisplayPort support for BIOS visibility, and second, I required a Windows installation on a drive with updated graphics drivers to enable display output. Now everything functions properly. This post remains up for reference should anyone encounter similar challenges. ---- My setup presents an unusual scenario not commonly discussed online. I recently assembled a PC centered on AMD G-series processors, using a 5600G chipset and an MSI B550-A PRO board. The problem arose when I needed to flash the BIOS before installing the CPU, which prevented any display from appearing on the monitor connected via HDMI. Despite having solid RAM and a verified CPU, the system would either power up and get stuck on the BOOT debug LED or randomly cycle between VGA and BOOT states. Initially, I suspected a failed BIOS upgrade or undetected CPU, but that turned out incorrect. After bringing in my 2080 Super, it booted normally with no display issues. The latest BIOS correctly recognized both the GPU and RAM. I even enabled integrated graphics as an option. Believing progress was made, I set the GPU to IGD by default, reset the PC, removed the GPU, and then faced the same display problem. Next, I tested switching to DisplayPort instead of HDMI on the motherboard, but this didn’t resolve the issue. I’ve never encountered such a combination before, and online searches reveal many similar frustrations—especially when dedicated GPUs are absent. I’m seeking clarity: am I overlooking something?
