Hello! I own an ASUS TUF 3080 and noticed it was extremely loud and hot during gaming. With fans spinning at full speed and the GPU reaching 85°C, I decided to lower the voltage to reduce heat and noise. I adjusted the fan curve and enabled MSI Afterburner’s automatic fan control. Early improvements were noticeable—the card stayed around 70-75°C with quieter fans. But I encountered an odd behavior: the fans would suddenly speed up for a couple of seconds before returning to silence, happening roughly every five minutes while gaming. When I switched back to stock fan settings but kept the undervolt applied, the noise returned. This seems strange since I was already undervolting it. I’ve tried reinstalling drivers via DDU and even updated the BIOS, but nothing changed. Since I’m not used to tweaking fan curves on my old EVGA 1070, this is quite surprising. I’m sharing the fan curves and voltage settings, hoping someone can help clarify what’s going on. I’ve also attached a graph of the fan tachometer showing spikes every few minutes.
