I don’t have much experience with virtual machines, but I understand situations where you allocate resources to the hypervisor first, then assign them to VMs. It’s unclear if that helps, though—I thought maybe your core resources are being set aside for that purpose, but it should have been obvious.

It won't necessarily end up failing right away, but once you realize core #0 is gone, you'll likely need a replacement soon. You can only confirm the issue when CPU-intensive games begin to crash.
