Hello, I'm dealing with a strange PC startup problem. My secondary machine at home has been idle, and I decided to power it up. It kept activating, fans spinning, lights flashing, and would restart multiple times before finally working properly. Eventually, it would shut down and then restart normally. When I swapped in the old GPU, it worked fine. Surprisingly, putting the new one back in also let it turn on correctly. After reinstalling drivers, a 40-minute stress test ran without any issues—GPU showed no problems. I kept restarting it, and it would start normally each time. But if I left it off for about an hour and tried to turn it back on, it would flicker twice or three times before starting again. Eventually, it would load the BIOS screen (https://imgur.com/a/sxGoNBT) and then return to Windows. There were no signs of GPU, CPU, or PSU faults. I ran benchmarks—restarting or shutting down and powering it up immediately worked. If I let it sit for at least 30 minutes, it would start, turn off a few times, and then load the same BIOS screen. Consider swapping out the tiny battery found on the motherboard if you have one available, usually a CR2032.
