hey, i'm here because while gaming my usage jumps really high and the screenshots show what's happening. it hasn't happened this way before. i restarted my CPU two months ago and haven't noticed any issues yet. the hardware monitor says everything is fine, my fans aren't overheating, and my GPU usage spikes a lot—though i'm not using Task Manager, just an HW monitor.
Despite the temperatures reaching 91°C, the fluctuations are not unusual. It's interesting how it suddenly jumps to 130%, though unless you notice significant slowdowns while playing, you probably don't need to be concerned. If you have a second screen or can run the game in windowed mode, check Task Manager to identify which program is using excessive CPU power. Likely, the game itself is the cause—especially during loading phases. This is normal behavior since it tries to maximize available resources to speed up startup.
Usage and application refer to different concepts. The utilization figures rise when a processor operates at its base frequency. When an Intel CPU frequently activates turbo boost, the utilization score increases. The Task Manager displays these utilization metrics but limits the highest values to 100% to avoid misleading interpretations. The Details section shows CPU usage, not graphs. For accurate CPU usage tracking, consider using HWiNFO instead.
It seems you're generally fine, just keep an eye on any significant slowdowns or stutters. Upgrading your cooling system could help maintain stability. Lowering the temperature to around 80°C would likely improve performance.
I'm using a Noctua air cooler... honestly, I don't know what to do next. This is my first PC I've built.
