Your setup seems to be causing inconsistencies depending on the game and its frame rate requirements. It appears you're trying to balance performance with visual stability, but the mismatch between your monitor's refresh rate and the game's demands is creating unexpected issues. The problem might lie in how your system handles different frame rates or in driver settings. You may need to check if your graphics drivers support variable refresh rates and adjust accordingly, or consider whether the monitor's capabilities match the games you're playing.

It supports a variable refresh rate and we currently offer it.

yes, it works but I can't activate it since it causes this small stuttering every time. as mentioned, the odd thing is that it only affects certain frequencies or frames per second, but I don't get why 120hz/120fps is problematic... it really doesn't make sense.

It feels similar to what I experienced—trying to reduce GPU usage while playing World of Tanks. I capped the frame rate at 120, matching my TV’s settings, and suddenly the performance improved dramatically. Adjusting it a bit higher to 122 made things even smoother, provided the GPU could handle it.

This version doesn't require a refresh rate adjustment. I've already tried various settings to prevent stuttering, but it keeps happening until I disable VRR.

I began using this technique when VRR wasn't active on my TV, but I haven't noticed any improvement now. Your issue might not be fixable with this approach since 120Hz is likely the panel's true limit.

It's interesting how monitor specs affect VRR performance. Adjusting the FPS to around 116-118 can help when the screen maxes out at 120 Hz or 165 Hz. Same principle applies for other refresh rates too.
