I'm looking for suggestions on how to handle this situation. The screw holes are threaded, but they're oriented differently than expected, and the long screws would push through the back of the board. It seems like a tricky setup. Anyone have ideas on how to fix this?

Take off the backplate from the motherboard. It may lift away, or it could be firmly stuck. If needed, gently use your fingers to remove it.

Check if taking it off is necessary before proceeding.

The backplate of the ILM restricts the CPU movement. Standard models allow you to add a cooler backplate, but they don’t extend fully into the mounting slots.
