Unusual issues with your VGA/monitor setup
Hey there, newcomer! It’s great you reached out. I’m trying to figure out what’s happening with my video output. Any suggestions or insights would be really helpful. Thanks, everyone! My setup includes a Z690 AERO D motherboard, the latest BIOS, and a GeForce RTX 4090 GAMING TRIO GPU. The issue started after I changed the boot sequence to use an USB drive, ran MemTest, and then switched it back. After that, the HDMI signal vanished from my monitor, and the red VGA light came on. I tried swapping the HDMI cable and tested with other monitors, but nothing worked until I plugged in the correct cable. When I opened the case, I noticed the 12V power cable looked damaged, but it didn’t affect the PC at all. After reinserting the HDMI connection, the light disappeared. I also mentioned that the BIOS seemed unstable right before the problem started, and sometimes options disappeared from the menu. What could be causing this? Any idea what might trigger it again?
I adjusted only the USB boot setting; didn’t revert BIOS or switch CPU to IGPU. You’re connecting via your graphics card or motherboard.
