Unusual issue in Windows 11 – Folder deletion resurfaces.
Hey everyone, just a quick note. I downloaded some files online, finished using them, then deleted everything and the original folder. The strange thing is that when I restart or turn on the PC, that download folder shows up again in My Downloads—empty, no files, almost zero size. It’s like it’s stuck. I tried shredding it, but nothing changed. Scanned with various antivirus and malware tools, but nothing came up. It feels like a lingering echo on the SSD, like a memory glitch. Anyone else experienced this? This is the only folder that keeps reappearing. The drive in question is my boot drive—a Western Digital PC N530 NVMe SSD with 512GB capacity.
I even reinstalled Windows 11. Still sees it pop up, right? I’m considering a full reset but nervous it might come back. I’ve checked ownership settings, cleared space, and cleaned the SSD—no idea what to do next. Also, some old folders are showing up again.
