Unusual internet interruptions are happening more often.
Hello, your Syro tech modem is linked to the TL WR841N. Over the past few months, my internet has been unstable when I launch apps like Discord, Steam, and certain games. It’s quite unusual and difficult to describe. I’ve reported this to my ISP multiple times, but they always say it’s an issue from my end. The crashes happen only when connecting the laptop, not when using it directly. Sometimes it works if the laptop is plugged in, but it’s hard to predict when it will restart. Once it starts crashing, it tends to keep doing so within about five minutes after a Wi-Fi reset. I’ve tried resetting network settings and even reinstalled Windows, but the problem persists. I’d really appreciate any suggestions or insights on what might be causing this.
Laptop specs: i7-7700HQ, 1050Ti, 8GB RAM, 1TB SSD.
Have you verified the complete failure, ensuring no connected devices function? Is it necessary to restart the router, or does its interface remain operational? Have you tested whether the issue occurs on your laptop as well? Given the abrupt nature and the relatively simple hardware, I suspect the power supply unit might be deteriorating, possibly due to a voltage drop from a sudden WiFi surge. Capacitors within the router could also be responsible. I’ve repaired older routers myself because of failing capacitors, so I’d attempt to reproduce the problem using applications that typically don’t cause this issue, applying heavy traffic.
