Hello, I’m sharing this on behalf of my friend since he struggles with English. He’s using AI to fix his typos because he’s not very comfortable with grammar rules. We’re facing a problem where his upload speed drops suddenly—like jumping from normal to 300–400 ms during gameplay or Discord use. His system specs include an MSI MEG Z690 ACE, Intel i9-13900K, Palit GameRock 4090, 4 TB NVMe Gen 4, Seasonic Prime 1200W, NZXT Kraken 360 AIO, etc. We’ve tried several fixes: checking 2.5G LAN ports, adding two separate PCIe NICs, using network monitoring tools, adjusting Windows settings, switching cables, and even contacting the provider to reset the DSLAM endpoint. None of these helped. He’s on a German connection with 250 Mbps FTTC/FTTN (VDSL2). We’ve optimized everything but still see latency spikes. We’re running out of options and need suggestions—preferably without replacing the whole setup. Prices here are uncertain right now.

It seems like you're questioning the plausibility of the situation. I suspect it might be due to an unstable connection from his ISP or nearby hardware limitations. I wouldn't attribute it to his PC, as that would be my initial assumption. After switching another NIC, I'd first check if the ISP can inspect the equipment at the demarcation point or review their logs.

I've faced repeated challenges in getting my ISP to acknowledge problems on their side, even after thoroughly checking everything myself. In most states, I've dealt with generic support reps who only have limited system access. Fortunately, I managed to get reassigned to a technician or field representative, which usually helped resolve the matter. There have been two instances where the connection issues were entirely my fault, yet the ISP dismissed them immediately during the initial call.

We appreciate your effort and will attempt it several more times to secure a qualified technician.
