Noticing some unusual performance problems in Spidey lately made me think about running a Timespy test. I wanted to check if anyone has any suggestions—maybe I'm just being silly. My setup includes a 12900k processor, RTX 4080 with 980 Pro, 3440x1440 resolution, no upscaling in the game. The system runs Windows 11 with XMP enabled. When I move around the city, GPU usage spikes between 50% and 80%, which seems CPU-bound to me. Even without the GPU running, it hits 95%–99%. Disabling Hyperthreading helped a bit, but performance still drops to around 70% on the GPU. In Task Manager it shows CPU at 100%, which is a bit confusing. Overall scores: GPU 28k, CPU 18k, Task Manager 26k. Attached images show GPU usage as low as 40% during the demo. Could there be something wrong with my configuration, or is this normal behavior? Thanks in advance!

Your timespy score is above average. The FPS on 4K might be the problem. This issue seems common with Spider-Man due to CPU limitations. I saw a similar setup with a 5800X3D and comparable frame rates.

12900k equals i9. Intel's naming style is quite repetitive, and it's unusual for a single number to fit across i3, i5, 7i, and i9 lines.

The 12900K is an i9 model. If you're confused about Intel's naming, check out their official page for details. You might also find helpful videos online.

Don't feel the need to be overly harsh.
