I received re3 and faced significant performance drops and lag across my whole PC while playing the game. In Task Manager, my processor speed remained stuck at 0.78 GHz. When launching the game, it worked normally with about 30% usage, but after a short time the speed fell to 0.78 GHz and usage dropped to just 15%, staying low. This issue doesn’t occur with other games like Resident Evil 2. Closing the game caused the clock speed to return to normal levels around 3.70 to 4.30 GHz. My hardware includes an i7-8700K, MSI RTX 2070 Armor, ASUS PRIME z370-A, and 16 GB RAM. Corsair RM750X is installed. The game was initially installed on my hard drive, but reinstalling it to M.2 didn’t help. My power plan is set to High Performance, and I prioritized re3 in Task Manager. A friend suggested pushing settings to the max, but that didn’t stop the slowdown. Temperatures are within normal range. I’m unsure what to do next and have limited experience adjusting clock speeds manually. Any suggestions?

This seems like an older game experiencing problems with newer drivers or hardware. Try running it in Windows 7 mode 1. Open your Steam game folder (C:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\RE3). Right-click on re3 and choose "Properties" from the menu. Click the "Compatibility" tab. Check the box labeled "Run this game in compatibility mode for:". Select "Windows 8" if it works, otherwise pick "Windows 7" from the dropdown.

The re3 remake released last year is what you're referring to.
