If it's defective and covered under warranty, send it back. Otherwise, as long as the UD AX meets your requirements, I'd opt for that.

For mobos, my suggestion is to choose the most affordable option that meets your requirements and isn't the lowest price the manufacturer offers. Any of the choices you mentioned would work fine.
