Also check the other gadgets connected to your network. It might be that one of them is using a fixed IP address within your router's DHCP range that wasn't allocated by the router, causing a conflict if another device receives that same address and lights up.

I don’t understand how to manage that system because it’s owned by the landlord. The building serves many people, so it’s an open network with various entry points. My access is limited to an online portal where I can set up devices using a Mac address.

It might have been another person in the building. If you encounter the "IP address conflict" message again, try these commands in a command prompt to possibly obtain a fresh IP from the router: ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew
