Hey all! I just switched my internet to fiber last week and its been amazing! However... Steams download speed hasn't changed at all. If anyone can help me fix this or tell me why this is going on that would be great. I've tried a lot of the troubleshooting steam recommends like switching regions, clearing my cache, and just waiting till other hours with low traffic but nothing seems to work. here are some screenshots of what my speeds look like vs what steam is giving me.

420 Mbps divided by 8 bits per byte equals roughly 50 MBps, which matches the average you'd expect.

Your highest download speed across different times of day varies with other speedtest platforms. Using only Steam doesn’t give a complete picture. However, for me, Steam outperforms all others when it comes to fully utilizing my Gigabit WAN connection. This might be influenced by my location and the CDN data center where the tests are run.

Based on my observations, file transfers often slow down when you're processing the game at the same time. Monitor your processor load during the download.

It's important to note that if your processor lacks sufficient speed for rapid downloads, performance will decline.

Your file system format is not specified; I don’t know if it’s NTFS.

From multiple speed test platforms, I’ve seen very consistent outcomes. Everything stays within the expected range, matching the screenshot from my initial post. Recently, some have suggested it might be due to Steam throttling during downloads—a situation that has persisted for quite some time.

Your results match those from other Speedtest checks, which might indicate a problem with your internet provider. How did you conduct these assessments? Which platforms were utilized? Were any tests executed when network traffic was low?

You're in a specific area of the United States. The network performance can vary depending on your location. Your PC specifications are detailed, and it's possible there are Quality of Life settings on your router affecting speed. Overall, you're experiencing improved speeds—double the typical rate and solid 750Mbps peaks are great!
