Unusual DNS activity observed upon joining the university network.
I encountered a small issue when attempting to use my VPN on the university's network. Every search result ended with ".sze.hu". The VPN works fine for IP-based connections, but anything dependent on DNS fails. Could there be something affecting DNS resolution in that environment?
Sure, I can adjust the DNS settings to use a more suitable provider such as Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 or Google's 8.8.8.8.
It seems the system interprets all DNS requests as local hostnames. You might want to investigate your Linux distribution’s method for clearing the DNS cache, as OpenVPN appears to handle this automatically during a connection.
Because your PC belongs to the university network and relies on its DNS server, this discussion might be helpful. The original post can be found at https://askubuntu.com/questions/1032476/...to-openvpn
