Unusual display issues on the screen.
I own this monitor for a while now—it's an Aorus QHD with 165Hz. Since getting it, I've been using it at 144Hz instead. That’s because the 165Hz version tends to show some odd screen tearing. Anyone know why this is happening? Are there any solutions? WhatsApp Video 2025-02-25 at 23.42.38_0dd56d6f.mp4
165hz is essentially an overclock attempt, though it isn't assured to run smoothly despite being labeled that way. Such issues may appear. That's why it starts at 144hz by default.
That is a more trustworthy refreshrate for sure I own a LG UltraGear 32GQ850 and its a 32'' 1440p 240Hz monitor and its like this out of the box. 165Hz has been an 'overclocking standard' for many 144hz monitors for years now. And many people have had issues with flickering, lines and stability issues running at 165hz, me included on a older ACER XB271HU. I have never heard of a 220hz monitor being overclocked to 240hz. I would say its completely safe to buy a 240hz and expect it to be 240hz.
I don't need tags or direct messages to help you. Just let me know the monitor details and I'll review them for you.
