I’ve observed this problem since buying it—it appears only on dimly lit scenes and mainly under HDR. The sample clips below come from the Dolby Vision version of Batman, using Ultimate Mode enabled. I tested it in standard mode but the same pattern persists. Could this relate to the Nebula HDR engine or is it a panel defect? For those unsure about the pattern, it resembles a black-and-white version of the American flag. Any guidance or support would be invaluable, as I need a quick fix. Thanks. UPDATE: it also shows in the regular UI, especially in XTU’s dark mode when full screen. I suspect it might be active continuously. — Sharan Raghav

It seems the dimming areas aren't shutting down correctly, and there aren't enough of them.

Also not a specialist, but I've noticed a similar problem on a Razer Blade 16. You could see the lines between the dimming areas, which shouldn't occur on a high-quality panel. They didn't offer any solutions—just told you to replace the panel and send back an identical one. If every panel has this exact issue, it's unlikely you'll get a fix. If the brightness remains stuck and wasn't always that way, that's a flaw and shouldn't be tolerated!

Hello, Did your Razer laptop experience any problems? Was the new replacement any more effective?

The 2000 zones worked smoothly with high contrast images, there was no visible blooming and the problem didn’t appear. This pattern mainly shows up in low light situations, especially on gray UI in some apps using dark mode. I’m curious if others with the same laptop experience this issue, since the ASUS reps here seem to lack proper product knowledge.

It was a coworker's. They had it repaired and received a worse panel with several dead pixels, making the problem worse. After that, they sent it again and got another one that was nearly as bad as the first. This process already lasted over two months, so they decided to let it go afterward.

They don’t understand the display technology at all. They see it as a standard LCD and don’t recognize MiniLED features like dimming or switching. It’s confusing how they explain everything as normal for all laptops. The person who visited my house clearly mentioned these points, noting that the shadow issues are linked to the MiniLED patterns.

Well, that is unfortunate ._. Hope you can convince someone, that this is indeed a problem!
