Hi, I saw a few issues with my laptop this evening. In games there’s a slight delay of around 1.5 seconds, but frame rates stay steady. The mouse works smoothly in menus, yet it slows down when hovering over options. My specs are an i7 processor, 3080 graphics card, and a 1440p 144Hz display with Windows 11. I’m using a USB-C cable to send video to a 1080p TV that I use for schoolwork. I’ve capped the FPS at 60 because that’s the TV’s refresh rate. I’m running casual gaming sessions between classes, so I’m not using the built-in screen. Instead, I have a secondary monitor (1080p, 60Hz) that mirrors the laptop’s display. When I play on the built-in screen there’s no lag, but the mirrored monitor still shows the delay. The mouse feels responsive, but the menu options lag before they highlight. Could it be the cable or something else? I’m not sure why this happens, but it’s confusing. Thanks for any advice—I just want to understand better.

Additional details: this happens even in offline games as well.

The TV's condition seems better in game mode. Older models often have sluggish screens and significant input lag because of complex signal handling.

I haven’t found a suitable game mode. It seems the other monitor likely wouldn’t support it either. The mouse movement works well on the TV, but the menu highlights aren’t immediate. This suggests the problem isn’t with signal processing, though I might be mistaken.

Additionally, I've been working with this configuration for several months, though it's a fresh challenge.

I tested connecting it straight to the TV via the laptop's HDMI, and everything worked fine. Still puzzled about why a dock was involved.
