I recently acquired a GTX 1080 and adhered to the usual setup steps—used DDU for the new GPU installation, swapped the card, and installed the newest drivers. I experimented with it a bit and even overclocked it. My system runs both Ubuntu and Windows (functioning well for both work and leisure). After completing some tasks on Ubuntu, I launched CSGO to test performance. It performed much better than before—rare stuttering disappeared, and I achieved around 50 FPS faster, reaching about 240 compared to 240 in the previous version. Both operating systems handled full max settings equally, with identical hardware. Linux drivers scored 384.94 versus 378 for Windows. CSGO consistently ran faster on Windows until now. 4790k 16GB RAM GTX 1080 at 1080p maxed settings—DX on Windows and OpenGL on Linux.
