Hey there, I was in Phasmophobia and suddenly everything went weird. My audio dropped, the PC stuttered, then crashed and restarted. After that, trying to launch Windows made me hit my desktop only to crash again. I’m using Ubuntu 20.04 and Elementary OS, with my games on a separate SSD drive and another large drive for the Linux installs. It’s strange because I can’t get past the login screen on Ubuntu, even though it works fine on my Asrock UEFI. My game drives are all on different partitions, and everything seems to fail when I switch between them. This is really confusing—I’ve never seen two OSes crash like this together. Maybe something on my game drive is causing the issue? EDIT: Once I got into my Asrock UEFI, it listed the specs but I’m still unsure about the drive layout. NVMe 3Gb/s for Windows 200GB SSD and 2TB for both Linux installations. Need help figuring this out.

When all three ospreys fail, it indicates possible hardware issues. If the system remains operational via a Linux live CD, check the log files in /var/logs.

Remove all but one DIMM and test functionality. Continue removing one at a time until you identify the faulty unit. If successful, proceed to check booting with a single DIMM in another slot.

I believe the issue is resolved. I cleared the CMOS and ran Windows’ disk check again, which allowed it to boot successfully into both Windows and Ubuntu. I haven’t reactivated XMP yet since I went to bed, but I’m hoping that won’t cause any crashes—my RAM is fine! Thanks for all the help!
