It seems like a dead GPU, but it's a laptop with integrated graphics—so it's still functional.

The sad smiley represents a win 8 BSD issue. A malfunctioning GPU might trigger errors 124 or 126 due to its unusual behavior, possibly linked to the RAM as well.
