I was browsing eBay searching for a decent price on a Ryzen CPU for someone starting PC gaming. I was also looking into an engineering sample and thought about getting a good CPU with an APU instead. Since I wasn’t lucky on eBay, I checked AliExpress and found this link: https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/100500261...web201603_. My concern is whether it’s a solid choice, if the effort is worth it, and if the price fits the value. (Sorry for the unclear English)

Engineering samples are generally not intended for resale and often come with much lower clock speeds than what's available in stores. It's a risky move at best. If you decide to take the chance, feel free to share your thoughts on whether it's worth it. The store generally receives positive feedback from customers.

It's not a sample for engineering purposes but an OEM component: https://www.amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-ryzen-3-5300g Probably the IHS isn't soldered but uses thermal paste instead.

The product shown in the webshop features ENG Sample. I understand that the 5000G models are available for OEM use, and I'm eager to receive the 5700G.

I think the 5300G isn't an official model; people refer to it as such for comparison purposes. Similar to older Xeon chips, buyers often compare them to i7 versions to increase interest.

very clear, it shows the markup. it's a risk, you can label it alpha or beta cpu. you're lucky to snag a pre-release version, just like in stores. otherwise you're in trouble.

It wasn't apparent that I would accept the chance.

Yeah, it's not about scams at all. The sellers seem reliable—they likely checked the product before sending it. ES cpu typically gets a lower price if it comes from a poor batch. He could resell it on eBay, and someone would probably take it quickly.
