Unusual AiMesh Wi-Fi interruptions but connection remains stable to the server PC. RT-AX55
I possess two RT-AX55 devices in Aimesh—one as the primary router and another as a node connected via 5GHz backhaul. I experience this odd Aimesh dropout where the node suddenly disconnects, cutting off most internet access except for my Windows PC on the main router from that node. The outage lasts roughly 2 to 5 minutes and occurs 0 to 3 times daily. However, connections via Ethernet to the mesh node remain functional. - Remote desktop to the Windows server on the main router works fine. - SMB network shares connect to the same Windows server. - The Gradio web UI is accessible locally, though the font appears as a default serif instead of the intended design. As expected, any internet activity needing the main router fails, including Wi-Fi at the mesh node. I've reset both routers and updated firmware, but the problem persists for over six months now. I'm evaluating upgrading both devices, though this issue remains quite bothersome. To note, I have a near-perfect 15-meter connection through two Windows devices with minimal 5GHz interference.
Two windows? Show us the analyses, please. This isn’t as important as what’s on your AiMesh page. Anyway, using 5GHz for backhaul at long distances while having to penetrate different materials, is going to be challenging. 2.4GHz might work better, but then you sacrifice bandwidth and are subject to more interference from other sources of 2.4GHz signals. If 5GHz is being used as backhaul, then 2.4GHz is used for client-AP communication. This is the point that could receive WiFi interference if your environment has a lot of other 2.4GHz broadcasts.
