Hi everyone, I completed a budget PC about four months ago. Everything worked well, all games ran smoothly. It came with fresh Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, the latest BIOS, and all drivers were up to date. There were no issues except for basic Windows updates. No overheating problems. However, over time the frame rate dropped significantly—from around 80 to 40 FPS in COD dmz. The system also became unstable, with FPS dropping to single digits and occasional tearing, plus the character seemed to jump every second. I checked similar setups in other machines and everything was fine there. I tried different RAM and processor configurations with the same motherboard, but nothing changed much. The internet connection was fast with low latency. Both the CPU and GPU usage stayed around 50% and 60% regardless of graphics settings, even when maxed out. The unusual part was that when I started a recording in the background with Steam, FPS improved slightly. But overall, this behavior was completely unexpected.

Specs:
- Gigabyte B450M-K rev.2
- AMD Ryzen 5 2600
- 16GB Kingston Fury 3600MHz CL18
- Adata XPG 250GB SSD (used, tested at 100/100)
- HDD for games (not ideal, but no better SSD found yet)
- AMD 5700X GPU
- Corsair RM 650W PSU

Anyone has any suggestions or solutions for this issue?

Your PSU is quite old, and you might want to try downloading code onto the ADATA drive to check if it improves things.

I'd be wary of that. Performance often changes unexpectedly during a Windows update.

It's an older method, but I've also used it with a newer version too. It doesn't appear to be effective.

Copy every file to an external storage device and then restore Windows from it.

Unfortunately, it didn't resolve the problem.
