Unusual actions during gameplay Strange patterns while playing Behavior that doesn't seem normal
Hello, I’m not entirely sure if this subject fits the right section, but I’m having some trouble with my computer. When playing games, I notice strange occurrences: white flashes appear on the screen, mostly triggered by mouse clicks but sometimes happening without warning. Regarding my system, I’m using Windows 10 22H2 on a Ryzen 5 3600 with 32GB DDR4 RAM and an EVGA 1060 6G SuperCloked graphics card. I had to pause the Windows updates because they weren’t functioning properly and I ended up rolling back to an earlier version. I’m currently using the Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver version 581.15. In the linked video you can see these odd behaviors, sometimes more intense, and it helps to close the game window and reduce its size. I don’t see this issue in this clip, but it does happen occasionally. Is there anything else I can try besides reinstalling Windows to fix both problems?
The game shown uses mouse input heavily, especially when playing with a controller. Exporting the control panel settings could help identify any unusual configurations.
Upgrade your GPU driver using DDU, then install the newest Game Ready or Studio driver properly. Temporarily turn off Windows Update to see if pending updates help—some bugs are linked to OS patches. Check if disabling hardware accelerated GPU scheduling in graphics settings affects performance. Try running the game in borderless windowed mode; if it still flickers, the issue is likely narrower. If none of these steps resolve it, a clean Windows reinstall becomes the best solution. Your hardware 3600 + 1060 should work well for most games without this problem, so begin with drivers and updates first.
You're looking for a way to avoid manually downloading and setting up everything again after a fresh installation. It sounds like you want a method that simplifies the process.
