I increased my 8320 to 4.5Mhz at 1.452v on an Asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0. My cooler is a Corsair H100 IV2. The CPU info shows (cpu (tctl) 62.3c max and cpu package 62.3c) and below that it says Asus sabortooth cpu 79c max. After running prime95 for an hour at full load, the temperatures are high. I also noticed under Asus EC the Vcore is at 90c, so I plan to lower the voltage to check if it drops into the 80s.

Using the new HWmonitor version helps track your temps accurately, it always tells the truth, I hope. I like keeping things in the low 80s when it's busy, but with this budget CPU I wouldn't be too concerned.

Review various temperature gauges.
Certain devices marked as 'CPU' display faulty data. Switch to the sensor identified as 'core' instead.
