I bought an i7-3770 to pair with my 1080, along with grizzly thermal paste and a Cooler Master 212 EVO. My temperatures stayed under 50°C, only reaching 56-57 during UserBenchMark tests. It's not the non-K 3770, but I'm curious if it's safe to overclock.

You can manually adjust your GPU's settings for improved performance, but monitor temperatures closely. Use MSI AB and gradually increase clock speeds until stability is lost. My 1080 will be set to +150 core clock and +325 memory clock. Keep in mind that different cards may respond differently.

you could customize your GPU for improved performance while monitoring temperatures. use MSI AB and gradually increase clocks until stability returns. my 1080 will be OC to +150 core clock and +325 mem clock, though not every card behaves the same. i'm playing Rust, which isn't optimized at all, so I need a stronger CPU for better results. my current card is already too hot to OC, but I don't want to touch it—only the processor matters. I upgraded from a 1050ri and my FPS remained unchanged when using an i7-2600, which was the reason the frame rate jumped.
