I'm at my wit's end here... This problem has persisted for the last 2-3 years. I thought I fixed it last year by resetting my PC, but now it is back. Even after resetting my PC again, the problem is still here. Here's what's going on! "there is also a video of this attached to this post" 1. Open any new AAA game on my PC 2. Small, colored pixilated errors start to occur on my screen "Mostly where there is a light source in the game" 3. It grows, grows, and grows, and then the graphics driver crashes and restarts. I've been keeping an eye on my GPU and CPU while this is happening, but nothing looks wrong or suspicious. The temps are what to be expected. Please, if anybody can help me fix this, I would immensely appreciate it. I have no clue what to try anymore, as nothing seems to fix it completely... You might want to check if the issue begins when the VRAM is failing. Have you tested another monitor or TV to eliminate a display problem?
A PC restart also clears GPU driver files. With two monitors set up, you can attempt to play the same game on the alternate one. I'll let you know what happens soon.
I tested it on another monitor and got the same outcome previously. I monitored the VRAM and noticed it was only reaching 4GB of the 8GB available. I restored my PC using the regular Windows "Reset This PC" method. I cleared all data from the Windows partition and reinstalled the operating system, expecting the GPU driver to be removed as well.
It doesn't necessarily mean the VRAM is bad just because it uses a portion of the available memory. This could be a common indicator of a failing graphics card, but the 2070 Super isn't that outdated. You might want to try running Unigen Heaven (GPU Benchmark) to check if similar issues occur there. https://benchmark.unigine.com/heaven
I managed to resolve the issue about 7-8 months ago, but it reappeared suddenly yesterday. I performed the test again, and the output was Unigine_Heaven_Benchmark_4.0_20230625_1819.html.
In fact, the output indicates I possess just 4095MB of VRAM, not the full 8GB.
No, I didn't notice anything like that during the run through Heaven.
