I've noticed some performance problems lately, and it seems my system settings might be the root cause. Games like Minecraft and Rocket League are frequently stuttering or dropping to 30 fps, sometimes resulting in black screens and unexpected restarts. I considered checking the GPU drivers, but nothing improved. Perhaps a fresh Windows installation would help? Another concern is my GPU, an MSI MECH OC RX 5700XT that I purchased used—it's still working but might be nearing its end. The system is running with default configurations without any overclocking or special tweaks. My specs include a Ryzen 5 7600, Kingston Fury 16GB DDR5 5200MT/s, Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX, and an XPG GAMMIX S50 Lite 1TB M.2 drive. Let me know soon!
They usually don’t stutter or struggle after death, but it might occur if the thermal paste or pads are worn out. Have you checked hwinfo (sensor tab) while gaming? That seems more related to the power supply unit. What drivers were installed? I recommend trying older versions, such as 23.11.1 and 24.5.1.
I've used custom pads and GPU paste for about two years, which might be the answer. The PSU is nearly ten years old and has been in various systems, possibly causing issues. I'm currently running the latest version 25.5.1.
