Hi, I'm new to this and need help with a hardware issue. I have frequent stutters, inconsistent performance, and low frame rates during gunfights in games like CS2 and other FPS titles. When checking compatibility, I noticed my motherboard doesn't support the 5800X3D at full speed, and my PSU seems unsuitable for this setup. I'm unsure what changes are needed to fix the problem because I think something is wrong.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte b550 gaming x v2
Which PCB version of the motherboard do you own? Also, what BIOS version are you running? Did you update your BIOS to the newest release and then reset the CMOS?
PSU: Corsair tx550m
How long has the PSU been in use and what load did it handle during that time? You might want to find a stable 750W power supply and check if any issues continue.

Your motherboard supports the 5800x3D as indicated on the support page starting from BIOS version F10. However, it might be wise to upgrade your power supply to a more robust model since the graphics card specifications list a requirement of 750W.

Hello!
Motherboard: I updated the BIOS to F19d as soon as I got the CPU, which means it should be compatible. Regarding CMOS, I cleared it right away.
PSU: I think I bought it about 2.5 years ago; it worked with my old system (5600x and GTX 2060) using the same motherboard.
I was surprised when I checked compatibility and found an issue between the CPU and motherboard concerning power.
Regarding the PSU, I looked up a calculator online and saw that a 550W system usually gets about 95% of power management. I also heard some people mention squeaking noises while scrolling or starting games. It seems possible that low PSU voltage could be the problem, and I’m confused—would a weak PSU really prevent the system from working properly? Or could it just slow things down?

I'm ready to do anything for change because it stops me from doing my main work.
😀
I'm confused since even with good FPS I still feel desync or something with my system. When I asked other users with the same setup, they didn't have similar issues, but maybe they had different motherboards and PSUs. At least my motherboard isn't bad 🧸

It could be useful to keep an eye on the CPU and GPU temperatures during games to ensure they stay within safe limits.

This appears to be coil whine, unrelated to low voltage, and it's simply a natural occurrence with limited control options.
