I'm facing a recurring issue with unexpected shutdowns. It happens frequently—sometimes every week—and occurs while using any app, whether gaming or just browsing. The display goes dark while the audio plays briefly before stopping. Initially, I suspected RAM problems, but tests with memtest86 and AIDA64 didn’t reveal issues. I then looked into Windows Event Viewer and found an error code "0x00000116" (VIDEO_TDR_ERROR), which pointed me toward my GPU (NVIDIA RTX 2080S). I considered power or thermal concerns, but with an 800W PSU and temperatures staying below 75°C during testing, those weren’t likely causes. Running HWinfo in log mode while playing Hearts of Iron 4 for an hour showed no problems. A crash followed the next day with the same error, even when doing light tasks like watching YouTube or using Chrome and Discord. I've tried reinstalling drivers multiple times, including using DDU, but nothing changed. Now the crashes return again, especially during simple activities. This is puzzling because low-demand tasks are usually easier to diagnose. Could anyone help with my setup?

I’m working on setting up a backup for a reinstall, and I’m looking for advice from someone who’s faced a similar issue before.
