Unstable crash during the first month of setup. No clear solution yet...
About a month ago my homemade computer from roughly a year ago began crashing during games occasionally without any warning. Web pages also behave strangely, showing errors like STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION or STATUS_BREAKPOINT. In the Windows Event Viewer I observed a crash with details such as application name, module, version, timestamp, fault code, process ID, path, and report information. The crash involved UnityPlayer.dll running version 2019.4.40.50731, with fault offsets and paths logged. I attempted several fixes including memory diagnostics, Intel Diagonostics, Samsung NVME tools, BIOS updates, driver patches, and hardware adjustments like underclocking. Specific components mentioned were the CPU (Intel Core i9-13900k), RAM (G.SKILL Ripjaws S5 64GB DDR5), GPU (MSI GeForce RTX 4090 NVME), power supply, case, and cooling system. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Taking random photos in the dark without a set plan, ensuring the system stays cool, confirming overclocking or underclocking stability for both GPU and CPU, cleaning out dust from the inside since it could cause shorts, verifying if issues are game-specific or general, looking for loose connectors inside the case—like a loose wire that only caused problems during fast gaming where shaking the desk made things crash. Hope one of these steps resolves your problems.
