Unstable connection with data transmission problems.
Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a Synology RT2600ac that's suddenly cutting off WiFi data across both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The network name stays visible, but the connection just stops working for all devices—phones, smart speakers, doorbells, laptops, etc. Synology support has helped me adjust settings, which makes sense, but after a firmware update, 5GHz performance dropped temporarily. I tried turning off the radios on the router and using my old N600 as an access point; that resolved the main problem except for slower speeds. The Nest Hello had a short hiccup possibly due to placement, but overall everything was fine. If switching radios helped and the network stays active even without data, it’s possible there’s an issue with the Synology radios themselves. Just to confirm, are you seeing similar behavior with your wired devices? And for clarity—WiFi is stable as long as the connection remains intact.
@Donut417 my father is also involved with similar clients and isn’t facing any problems. Another user without issues encourages me to consider the problem might lie with my device. I’m running 1.2.2-7915 now, whereas I was on a different version when the issue started, so I wasn’t expecting it. Thanks!
I'm checking the most recent SRM just to confirm. Just because the firmware seems stable now doesn't guarantee it will stay bug-free. I've faced similar situations with DLink routers.
It might be an older version, possibly causing a firmware issue.
It seems possible. I was lagging behind by two versions at the start, and I got updated through both. But it began unexpectedly without any modifications. No firmware change or new devices were added. Everything had been functioning properly before that. Once the 5GHz issue was resolved, things improved.
