Introduction: Project Contingency is a PC-focused Halo fan project that began in 2012 as "Galaxy of Combat." Our aim has been to introduce Halo to PC players, especially since the last official release was Halo 2 Vista, which had ended. Initially built in CryEngine and later moved to Unreal Engine in 2015, the game was crafted from scratch using elements from the entire Halo universe to deliver a blend of familiar and fresh gameplay. Leveraging Unreal Engine capabilities, the project is designed to work across various hardware setups, ensuring a smooth experience for all players once it launches. Our team includes members from diverse gaming backgrounds—Halo CE, Crymod, and more—and continues to expand as we work toward a unified vision. We are passionate about the Halo series and share the same goal: to bring a new Halo title to PC. What is Project Contingency? It’s a completely free-to-play game designed to offer a distinctive experience inspired by Halo CE, Halo 3, and Halo Reach. Progress has been notable during development, with update videos showcasing full matches of popular gameplay modes. Currently, we offer several modes such as Slayer (FFA, Team, SWAT, Multi Team), Oddball, Capture the Flag, and King of the Hill (FFA, Team, Multi Team).
