Building a new PC from the ground up. It started up smoothly, exceeding expectations on benchmarks. After that, any GPU load caused crashes repeatedly. Specifications include an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D 4.2 GHz 16-core processor with Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM cooler, a Gigabyte WINDFORCE OC GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB video card, and an Asus PRIME X670E-PRO ATX Wi-Fi motherboard. The RAM is 4 x 32 GB with G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB series at 6400 MT/s. Storage is a 2TB HP SSD, and the power supply is a Gigabyte UD1000GM 1000W 80+ Gold certified modular ATX unit. For troubleshooting, we’ve done: removing and reinstalling drivers via DDU, replacing components individually and testing, swapping the motherboard to see if it helps, running RAM checks with memcheck and single stick tests, and reinstalling Windows. Notably, changing the motherboard allowed a successful benchmark before the issue returned. The CPU performs flawlessly, and problems vanish when the GPU is unplugged.

Avoid using the PCIe x16 horizontal mount adapters for your GPU—these are known to trigger signal issues on the PCIe bus, which GPUs struggle to recover from. Also, make sure Resizable BAR (ReBAR) is turned on in BIOS, as newer 30 and 40 series models favor this setting.

Use ddu to remove GPU drivers and try installing drivers from 3 to 4 months ago.

Use a computer with a single RAM stick to observe the outcome.

You also tried swapping the motherboard, but the issue persisted. A benchmark test confirmed everything was fine, yet problems arose afterward. I’m running out of ideas and really need assistance!

You applied DDU instead of just reinstalling drivers. It helped resolve the issue by addressing the GPU's power limitations.

We tried several approaches without success. So far we've: removed and reinstalled each driver, including via DDU; replaced parts individually and verified: PSU and motherboard; swapped and checked: GPU (switched to 1660, issue still present); ran RAM tests using memcheck and single stick; reinstalled Windows. Notably, changing the motherboard let us complete another successful benchmark before the problem returned. The CPU performs flawlessly, and the issue disappears when the GPU is unplugged.
