Express your dissatisfaction with Grinding Gear Game, an indie studio based in New Zealand. They only target players who pay real money, and this is done simply because they can. I want to clarify my concerns by sharing my experience on November 17. I reached out to the main Poe chat to inquire about an item called Rakiata's Flow. Someone quickly responded, urging everyone to donate the item for free.

If I had seen this, I would have offered 200 exalted orbs for the item. However, many in the chat mocked me, calling the item worth only 200 divine and labeling me a scammer, spammer, or troll. They insulted me harshly just because I didn’t know the true value of the item and offered it for free.

I wasn’t trying to deceive anyone—I was simply trying to get a fair deal. The situation escalated when others started insulting me even more, and I ended up being banned without any explanation. It’s confusing why only me was targeted.

Throughout the day and night, the chat remained filled with spam and negativity, with no one warning or taking action. Other users were completely careless, while I was ignored. I reached out to support for help, but they didn’t respond meaningfully.

I demanded answers and a reason for my ban, insisting that this wasn’t about money but about disrespect. I’m not the first to feel ignored by this company, and I’m determined to get my money back. Supporting such a company feels unjust, especially when others treat them with respect.

I’m ready to escalate this issue and share more details, including a statement from one of the game’s creators, Chris Wilson. I hope this clarifies the situation and brings attention to their behavior.

P.S. They’re demanding proof of my payments on Steam and insisting I provide ID, but I already shared the transaction screenshots. They still refuse to refund me. I’ll consider legal options if this continues. This lack of respect is unacceptable!

Are you being banned for purchasing a questionable Steam key or is there another reason? Did you use offensive language, call people derogatory names, or display any inappropriate behavior when the alleged attackers were present?

The issue seems to stem from your actions violating their terms, which usually means refunds aren't given. Most companies, whether indie or larger, don't reimburse players banned for rule breaches. If you acted respectfully and didn’t push for removal or payment, they likely would have understood. Based on your messages and the situation, it looks like they had a valid reason for banning you. In short, the best approach is to politely reach out to support and request a review of your case. Don’t send demands via email; that only strengthens their justification.

OP shared images proving they bought it through Steam. However, based on what OP has mentioned and the harsh punishment without notice, it seems they were likely facing slurs or other highly offensive content directed at them.

Not sure what you were expecting by posting here. For all I know, what you said is just one side of a coin, in which there isnt even any proof that the presented side is even real. I mean, usually peoples who posts this kinda thing gives screenshots of the chatlog, etc. Anyway, Sometimes its not about who started the insult war, but more to who went overboard first. It's an online chatroom, there WILL be toxic peoples. If you give a damn to every single toxic people, you are in for a really rough online life. If you really feel the need to fight them back, at least do it in a 100% proof-way that only them will be in trouble. If you did broke their ToS, pretty sure they have rights to refuse your refund request. As for the micro-transactions, yeah.... I dont think I ever heard a game refunding those to banned peoples. If you still wanna try, you probably need a lawyer and actually goes through court for a better success chance. Dunno now, but I knew someone who got banned in WoW. And don't forget the CGFs And that's a game where people paid in advance (at least for the expansions), and monthly subscription.

It's a real game, but I'm not taking it seriously. That comment made me laugh; I said I won't let anyone disrespect me. How do you actually make sure that? I don’t like being called something bad, but it’s impossible to stop someone from doing it online. If this bothers you a little, maybe think about selling your computer and getting a library card instead.

These individuals clearly don’t deserve our support, and they shouldn’t expect respect or anything from us if they behave this way. They seem to think they’re above rules, just like a god. Everyone makes mistakes—why not give them a chance first? Warning before banning seems fairer. If they ban me without reason, it’s unfair for just one person. They started by insulting me in chat, but I only defended myself. It’s not right for a company to punish someone for a first offense. In my view, a warning would be better than a ban. For their behavior, I’ll follow the law. I dislike abusive actions simply because they happen.

You haven't specified the exact reason for your ban. Companies can permanently remove users who break their terms of service, even if it's the first offense. This is standard in most multiplayer games with chat features. If your response violated their TOS, the outcome depends on the game and its specific rules. Even if it wasn’t severe, you should appeal properly—your reaction and follow-up actions determine your case. I understand frustration, but the responsibility lies with the company, not you or other players. You might consider legal action, but it’s likely costly and time-consuming. Given the 28 euros you mentioned, the expenses for a lawsuit probably exceed any potential recovery from the game.

It’s clear when you follow the guidelines and consider the situation. Rules vary, and consequences depend on the rules and how serious the mistake is. Every scenario is unique.

Another user is raising concerns about GGG again. Many folks are upset with this indie developer. The Steam community has already discussed it.
