Hey everyone. I'm working on setting up the backlight (RGB lighting) for my new LT laptop (M7-12R5N5-668 Infinity M7) using Linux Kodachi 8.27, which is based on Ubuntu 18.04.6. I came across a project on GitLab but it's no longer maintained. Could someone help clarify if you need more details?

The Ubuntu 18.04 codebase isn't being supported anymore, and the kodachi site isn't reliable for security updates. It looks like the system starts from a RAM disk, so you'd need to retry the setup each time. After clearing that concern, we should figure out whether you've installed the software correctly or if it's not functioning properly.

Thank you for your response. In this situation, I have added Kodachi to the disk. I attempted to follow the provided link but encountered a stalling error with sudo modprobe acpi_call. The command failed because the module was not found in /lib/modules/6.2.0-060200-generic.

You're using a quirky, old Linux distribution built on a neglected codebase, powered by unreliable third-party tools from a lesser-known Chinese manufacturer. It's a bit of a mystery for most users.

Here, I explain that the developer is actually releasing a 6.2 kernel rather than the 4.19 one, since the software is aimed at Tongfang-Control after their choice to strictly declare a particular kernel.

Sure thing! That sounds like a fun challenge—no paddle required.

Generally, accept the rainbow output or turn off the RGB.

I’m not sure about that. Can you clarify what you mean by “turn off please”?
