He’s experiencing issues with his GTX 980, i5 4460, and GTA 5 online. At 1080p with ultra settings, he sees frequent frame drops and sometimes consistently low frames under 60. The concern is that both of his parts from me are affected, but similar settings didn’t cause the same problems in other games. I suspect a driver issue since other titles run smoothly. Although GTA is CPU-heavy, a drop to 1440p shouldn’t cause such high usage. Thanks for your thoughts.

Z97 gigabyte board is confirmed, featuring 8GB DDR3 RAM, an SD card slot, and GTA available on a 1TB WD HDD. The power supply matches a Corsair CX 500.

They activated the high-end graphics options. Although there are just a few, they barely improve picture clarity and significantly slow down performance.

I'm not completely sure, but someone else had a comparable problem we couldn't solve. It seems there might be a CPU bottleneck issue since I have a 980 and only experienced frame rate drops in GTA 5 at one specific location in the desert with no clear reason. I'd suggest lowering a few settings like shadows, which often consume CPU resources.
